A Light in the Darkness

Joanne Tanner, 8/8/2019

Do they know? Half a world away, where these solar lanterns are made, do they have any idea these will be used to light up the darkness in Haiti? Do you know that having a solar lantern in the home can save about $10-$15 in the cost of oil for lanterns? It can light the path on the darkest night. Light can provide safety….security.

In July, when I visited the Church of Christ in Carissade, Haiti, Pastor Casseus and the church leaders gave every family a solar lantern. Frandy Casseus gave them instructions on how to use it.

A light in the home after dark can mean extra time for school work, a light by which to cook, a light to study God’s Word.

Jesus is called the Light of the World. We are called to be the hands and feet of Christ. Will you partner with us to bring the Light to the darkness in rural Haiti?

“The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:5 NIV
