And Then Came COVID-19

Haiti seemed to enter the COVID-19 pandemic, or rather the COVID-19 pandemic entered Haiti, a little later than in other countries of the world, however, enter, it did. Limited resources for testing, many businesses ordered to shut down by the government, flights in and out of Haiti curtailed. The only thing we could do was to get educated about preventing the spread of COVID-19 and educate the people about good handwashing, wearing a mask, social distancing, staying home if one is sick. Pastor Casseus and his new wife did a lot of teaching to the people at church and different community leaders. We were able to send funds in to Haiti to have 200 masks made. It wasn't many, but at least it was that many. I have been sewing masks at home in the U.S. and sending them but the packages have yet to arrive (going on 2 months now, they may never make it to Pastor Casseus). All I can hope is that someone in Haiti is using them. So we keep educating and praying and the COVID-19 numbers are still rising.
