School uniforms were finally completed a few days after school started. There are now between 50-100 children who attend classes. We buy in Haiti and hire in Haiti. A few years ago, we bought a sewing machine for 2 brothers who then took sewing lessons. They, as well as other workers, now make the school uniforms every year. It’s quite an undertaking and we have to send the money in July in order for Pastor Casseus to buy the fabric and everything necessary to make the uniforms. They really look nice once they’re finished!
We had to completely makeover our website, which has been quite a learning curve (for those who are technologically challenged!) To cover the past 3 years, we’ll be making a summary of each year, which will make for easier and quicker reading. Thanks so much for your prayers and support!
On average, girls in developing nations miss 40 days of school per year because of a lack of feminine hygiene supplies. Pastor Casseus and his wife Emmanuella, traveled north to Cap Haitian to participate in a Day’s for Girls Training. This training helped them both understand the function of the male and female reproductive systems, in order for them to teach this information to the women and men in Fowozoli. Every women and girl who attends the education class will receive a Feminine Hygiene Pack with washable sanitary pads, a waterproof case for soiled pads, 3 pair of underwear, biodegradable towelettes and safety pins to hang pads when washing and drying. (No donations were used to pay for this training).

Giving Tuesday…a day when we look outside of ourselves and pay a little attention to those in need, no matter what organization you support. Look in your community, your church, Main Street, family, friends, co-workers, whomever needs a little help. Here at Caring Hearts for Central Haiti, Inc., our focus is a little place in Central Haiti called Fort-Resolut (Fowozoli in Haitian Creole).
We support 50 children so they can go to school and receive one nutritious meal per school day. Food prices in Haiti have sky-rocketed and we are having to send close to $1600 per month to feed these children, where 3 months ago, it was $920. Your tax-deductible gift will go towards the support of these 50 children. No administrative costs are taken out of any donations. You can click the DONATE button on this website. Thanks so much and God bless you!
